We’re fortunate to connect regularly with Greg Kihlström, founder of “The Agile Brand with Greg Kihlström,” one of Apple’s Top 10 marketing podcasts. With more than 450 episodes and millions of downloads, Greg brings together thought leaders to discuss current marketing and customer experience trends.

Recently, our own Sue Keith sat down with Greg to discuss the hiring market for marketing talent, the in-demand jobs for 2024, and, of course, AI.

A few highlights from the conversation:

  • We’re living in a “tale of two countries.” The media has been touting record employment rates and hiring challenges for years. However, the story for corporate workers has been an entirely different tale.
  • Many CMOs are being asked to do more with less. Marketing leaders are solving headcount constraints by bringing in contractors to address their staffing gaps.
  • That said, our sister company, Landrum Talent Solutions, which specializes in recruiting for HR positions, has seen a marked increase in demand for in-house talent acquisition managers – a leading indicator that corporate hiring is poised to increase in the second half of 2024.
  • Some of the top in-demand marketing jobs this year will be Customer Marketing, ABM, and Growth Marketing.
  • AI will not just be used by marketers to accelerate content production; it’s going to fundamentally change marketing strategy and how you go to market. You should expect to be asked by your management team or board how your team is going to adapt.
